medical bay

Xavier rolled in leaving the doors open for Caim and Rachel, the room was filled with medical equipment some move to the main bed ready for Rachel to lay on.

"Caim lay her there and i would suggest you change"he said noticing the collar around his neck with a wave of his hand it popped open and fell to a tray.

Caim ran this thumb over the back of her hand. "No one Rachel, you must have heard wrong. We were talking about you being the Professor's daughter and how we have to go talk to Wolverine. You must have gotten the two subjects mixed up." He told Rachel this while looking at her, smiling kindly. It would be hard to tell that he was lying, and he wasn't thinking about anything but math equasions, so she couldn't get anything from his head.

Rachel smiled weakly sensing only maths problems from his mind , she sighed sending a wave of pain threw her weak body as she lay "when will this end"she said threw gritted teeth.

"It should be stopping soon, the Professor just gave you some sort of medicine to make sure it does," Caim said softly.

she groaned as she managed to relax a little in the bed she rolled to her side taking the weight off her back but all the time keeping hold of his hand , slowly she felt what ever her father had given her take effect and she opened her eyes , to her the world looked like fuzzy images of an out of focus camera, no matter how much she blinked it would not clear and again she shighed "I still can't see , Caim , what wrong with me" she asked softly "what if i remain blind, what will i do?" her heart now racing

"I dont know," he said truthfully. "But I doubt that it will remain. It'll probably disappear once whatever they gave you gets out of your system. It won't take long though..."

Rachel closed her eyes and listened she could hear the sound of her own heart beating and those of Caim's she heard the drip of the water from the tap on the sink in the corner "but what if it doesn't what if what they gave me keeps me this way?" she said as she felt the panic rise again " I could't live this way" she said as she tried to sit up on the bed , pushing up with her arms she managed half way before stopping to take a breath she grabbed at the collar around her neck "I want this thing off me !" she said tears rolling down her face as she clawed at it scratching her self a she did in a panic

Caim gently but firmly grasped her hands. "Rachel, you need to calm down. It's going to be fine." He glanced at the Professor, waiting for him to get the collar off. Then he looked back to Rachel. "The blindness will go away. You have to trust me."

Rachel grasped his hands her fear subsiding but not compleatly going "I do trust you" she said softly "but its hard to believe when all you can see is shadows, and your hurting inside"

"Not all shadows are evil and dark," Caim mumbled quietly. "Just picture them as the peaceful dark you see before you go to sleep...And the hurting is because you've day so much fun the day before, that you're sore. But tomorrow you'll be back on your feet and ready to go." He didn't know where his little speach had come from, but if it worked then he wouldn't complain.

Rachel felt her self relax as if in a trance as what ever Xavier had given her took affect, slipping back down onto the bed, she closed her eyes drifting back into the unconsiosness of sleep his words ringing in her mind "i am tired , so tired " she said meaning of her life.

"Then sleep. I'll be here when you wake up," Caim said quietly.

Rachel sighed as she lay on the bed his hand held in his "sleep" she said softly "a temporary solution to my problem" she said softly her eyes blinking but never moving

"It of it as a half day vacation," Caim said quitly.

Rachel sighed laying her head down she could hear his breathing soft and rhythmic close to her and she focused on that "who is my father" she asked softly knowing having caught some of the conversation earlier he knew.

"The Professor. Who else?"

Rachel sighed and squeezed his hand "who is my father" she asked again more instant as she felt he was not telling her the truth "I heard the conversation, well some of it " she said she shifted on the bed as pain coursed threw ever muscle making her wince

"Shhh, everything's fine," Caim said, noticing her wince. "And you really should sleep. You need to relax your mind."

Xavier sat in the doorway he nodded to Caim as he crossed to the bed taking his hand he made her sleep "now i will take the collar off" he said coldly "I don't know what it will do to her " he loked at Caim "be prepared" he sent to him in his mind

Rachel suddenly felt her self slip into sleep her mind dark and quiet for once, soft voices filtered threw into her dreams then in a burst she cried out waking with a start she pulled away her mind suddnely flooded with images and thioguths "AAAAAAAHHH!!" she cried out suddenly lashing out sending things crashing against a wall with her mind and hand pulling away from everyone she dropped to the floor backing against a far wayll holding her head.

Caim walked slowly up to her, putting the occasional flying thing down. He kelt in front of her and placed his hands over hers, which were on her head. "Rachel, Rachel. Focus. You need to focus. Push anything you hear to the back of your head. Focus on my voice."

Rachel felt him touch her hands "I CAN'T!!" she screamed tears streamed down her face her body crying out with pain each pushing her , pushing her to some place she didn't want to go. For a moment she looked up at him her eyes flashed from blue to red a smirk crossed her face then with a cry "AAAAAAHHHHH!!!" turned back everything in the room lifted sending Xavier diving for the door.

i seethe things lift from there resting places and i move to the door "Caim i would suggest you leave " i say more of a suggestion than a command "something is happening to her that i can not control, i advise you leave if you don't wan to get hurt"

"I'm not leaving," he said. His voice was soft, but loud enough that the Professor could heear. Caim looked at Rachel and gripped her hands a little tighter. "Rachel. You need to focus. Come on, I know you can do this. FOCUS."

Rachel looked at him her eyes flashing from blue to red and back her body felt on fire a more things lifted from the floor "I...I..CAN'T TO MANY VOICES, SO MUCH PAIN!!" she said gripping his hands suddenly her eyes became pure red and clear "I am the dark phoenix, this is my time and i shall take over " came a dark voice from Rachel but with a second cry her eyes changed back to blue and became clear before she slumped to the floor out cold

Caim ground his teeth together. Crap. Not again! Caim shook Rachel. "Rachel!" he exclaimed. He wasn't sure what to do, and he felt like an idiot. There had to be something...
