The Garage

I open the door into the garage and reach alone the wall for the light switch. I find it with a practised hand and bright lights burst on above me. I smile and go up to my bike. I look it over and see that a piece of the exhaust pipe it bent slightly. Probably from when I got bumped the other day. I place a hand over it and shape it back into place.

I roar up to a garage bikes been acting up and I want to check it out , i see a girl stands playing with a piece of pipe , "Hey kid your boss around?" I yell puling the Harley to a stop.

I look over the end of my bike and see Wolverine. I shrug. "Could be in his office." I stand up and wipe my hands on my pants out of habit. I walk up to his bike, my hands on my hips. "What's up with you bike?"

I throw the stand down and slip off my bike "running rough , think the valves need reseating" I look at the girl as i lean back on my bike "Also the rear mud guards bent , I hit something i shouldn't have" I smirk going to lit another cigar but looking around i change my mind and just chew on it.

I nod. "I can fix the mudguard," I say. I bend down and run my hand over the guard until it's back in place. I bite my lip and look the bike over. "So that's done...but I'm not sure about the valves. If they're out of time then the whole bike's busted. But you could send it to a mechanic." I laughed quietly under my breath.

I grin " yea I could, or i could just fix it myself" I say seeing the work she had done to the mud guard "nice job, names Logan, you?" I asked not really expecting an answer from her.

I stand up and look at him. "Nadia." I look back at the bike. "Or yeah, you could fix it yourself." I cross my arms and tap my fingers. Can't believe that I dont know how to fix them, but whatever.

"well Nadia may be you need to learn how to fix them" i say pulling my brown jacket off the back "your alittle young for working here " I smirk as i walk to stand at the door "so what brings a kid like you here?"

I look over at him. "Needed a job, and I can fix things pretty well."

I look back at the fender "yea, so i can see" i say smirking as i look back at her "so, you got a place to stay?" I ask knowing she probably didn't

I shrug and jerk my thumb over my shoulder, pointing to the open garage door. "Yeah, kinda. Just a hotel up the street." I shrug again. "It's only temporary though."

I grunt "not staying at the school?" he asked "yea, i read your file, Nadia" i smirk moving the cigar in my mouth

I roll my eyes. "That's just like you Logan," I say. I sigh tiredly and shake my head. "No. Can't. My shift starts too earily and ends too late for me to go back and forth from here to the Institute. It would probably kill the earth, never mind me, with all the gas I'd be using. But I'll be back in a week or so..."

I push the cigar around in my mouth " ok kid, do it your way" I said leaning against the bike "I'll probably see ya there , its where I'm headed, or was" i said looking at the bike

I tap my foot, staring at the bike. I was still trying to figure out the valves. "I'm still pissed, 'cause that's the only thing I'm not sure how to fix. And I don't want to mess your bike up anymore..."

"give it time ,kid" I say still holding the cigar in my mouth iching to light it but i know if i did there would be no garage or me" your still learning"

I laugh, and it's sharp and forced. "Yeah, whatever." I look over at the clock and realize that it's getting later and my shift's ending soon. I look over at Wolverine. "I'm off in about an hour, want to go get something to eat?"

I glance at the clock"sure , got a few minuets, chuck can wait" I say standing up i grab my coat from off the back of the bike
